The Question We Hear Most Often
"Can I pick up the containers now and pay later?"
It's one of the most common questions we receive from exporters, NVOCCs, and freight forwarders — and it's a completely reasonable one. When you're managing cargo movements and tight shipping windows, having flexibility on payment timing matters.
The short answer is: yes, credit terms are possible. But there's an important reason why they don't happen on the first transaction — and understanding that reason will actually help you get more from every deal you do with us.
Shipping Containers Are Liquid Assets
Unlike office equipment or warehouse shelves, a shipping container is a moving asset.
Once it leaves the depot, it's in transit. It can be in Los Angeles today, loaded at Long Beach tomorrow, and on a vessel to Asia by the end of the week. There's no fixed location, no easy retrieval, and no simple way to recover an asset once it's on the move.
This is the fundamental difference between container credit and standard trade credit. It's not about doubting your business — it's about how the asset itself behaves.
Think of it like financing a fleet vehicle: banks don't hand over the keys before paperwork is signed, not because they distrust the driver, but because the asset is too mobile to manage without a clear agreement in place.
Why Transaction History Matters
At KD MES USA, credit decisions are built on transaction history with us specifically — not just general creditworthiness.
Here's why:
Every business relationship starts with a baseline of trust that grows over time
Container availability, pricing, and logistics are all market-sensitive — knowing how a customer operates helps us serve them better
Our ability to offer better pricing, larger volumes, and expanded depot access depends on knowing the pattern of how a customer moves equipment
This works in your favor. The more we work together, the more we can do for you.
What You Unlock as the Relationship Grows
We operate on a simple principle: customers who demonstrate consistent, reliable transactions earn expanded benefits across every dimension of the deal.
For businesses with an established trading history with us, this means:
Pricing — more competitive rates on container purchases and leases
Volume — ability to handle larger order quantities
Locations — expanded depot access across more U.S. and international regions
Flexibility — credit terms on container sales, buy-back programs, one-way leasing, and general leasing arrangements
Whether you're purchasing containers for export, reselling internationally, or running a one-way SOC lease program — the relationship drives the terms.
The Credit Process: Simpler Than You Think
If you're ready to expand your container operations and need credit terms to do it, the process is straightforward.
Step 1 — Submit a Credit Application Contact us to receive and complete our Credit Application. This gives us the formal basis to evaluate your account.
Step 2 — Complete the Review Our team processes the application and confirms the credit structure that fits your business.
Step 3 — Sign a General Sales Agreement Once approved, we execute a standard sales agreement that outlines the terms of our ongoing relationship.
That's it. Two documents. One clear process.
After that, credit-based transactions — across container sales, international resale, one-way leasing, and standard leasing programs — become part of how we do business together.
